What’s New?

Could it be … Baby Lock? You may have noticed some changes in the past couple of weeks. We’ve got big things in store so stay tuned.

Family Day

Holidays – We’ll be closed on Monday, February 20 for Family Day. Hope you’ll take some time to relax and maybe even stitch a bit.

Block of the Month

Our Fiesta block of the month is well under way. If you missed the start and would like to join in, call now to register before you miss too many blocks. We have a few block kits left over from our Starburst block of the month – If you missed picking up December’s block, c’mon in, you can still get it.

There is a Lot Going On

There are lots of classes on offer this month and, as always, we’re happy to see you for Sit & Sew Fridays 12:00 – 6:00 pm every Friday. Don’t forget the first Saturday each month is demo day. We have lots to show you, so join us at 10:30 on Saturday, February 4. Bring a finished item for show & share for a chance to win a quilty prize.

Battting Promo

Our end of the year batting promotion was such a success, we’ve decided to continue it. We know you like a sale and we found out that we like to cut all the batting at the end of the day, so it works for everyone. When you order your cut batting a day in advance, we’ll give you 20% off!

Classes

Enjoy classes in our spacious classroom with lots of table space, two oversize ironing boards, design wall, great teachers, and good company. Whether you come with someone you know or venture in on your own, you are sure to make new friends, learn new skills and have a great time! By the way, if you need to cancel a class after registering, you can get a full refund up until one week before the first class.

This is a good "next" quilt for those who have taken our Learn to Quilt class. It’s made with strips and goes together easily. The finished size is 48" x 64" but you could easily make it smaller or larger. Make it colour coordinated or scrappy, either will work. Judy’s sample is made using the Change of Heart line of fabric by Northcott.

This jacket is a favourite here at QC! Choose a sweatshirt and a stack of co-ordinating fat quarters and you’ll love the end result. It’s great to wear inside during the cold weather and wear it outside when it warms up a bit.

Learn how to make a quilt from start to finish. You’ll learn good cutting techniques and how to sew your top together beautifully. We’ll sandwich your quilt in class and get you going on machine quilting. End off with beautiful double fold binding. You’ll be amazed at what you can do!

This technique is from the book Accent on Angles by Susan Purney Mark. The class is in two parts to allow for cutting and sewing in between. It’s a striking quilt and could be a wall hanging, table topper or a bed quilt.

This piecing technique is just right for cleaning out your scrap basket. Add an accent colour and you’re ready to play. The variations are limited only by your imagination! Sue will show you a few ways to put your strips together and you can add some ideas of your own.
